2008-2009 Goals

APARE Action Plan for 2008-2009

 

Goal 3: (initiated work in 2005-2006, ongoing in 2006-2007 and 2008-2009)

 Encourage and promote ongoing theological education beneficial to areas of ministry.

 Objective 3.1:      Focus interior actualization of the Sacraments of Initiation, Service and Healing.

 Action Plan 3.1.1 Through communication tools such as newsletter and APARE Web Site.

           Responsibility:  Newsletter Committee Convener

          Time Frame:  Throughout 2008-09 year, check in at Exec. Meetings.

 Action Plan 3.1.2 Through gatherings of PARE’s through speakers, handouts, and/or sharing.

          Administrator’s Conference – Interior purpose of our Sacramental Formation

          Fall Day – Sacraments of Initiation

          Winter Business Meeting – Sacraments of Service

          Spring Business Meeting – Sacraments of Healing

          Retreat – All Sacraments

                    Responsibility:  Leadership

                   Time Frame:  Throughout 2008-09 year, check in at Leadership

 Objective 3.2       Go beyond promoting traditional programs.

 Action Plan 3.2.1 Continue formation through Deanery Groups or PARE clusters.  Give suggestions for books or documents that can be shared for discussion such as the United States Catechism for Adults, etc.

           Responsibility:  Deanery Representatives

          Time Frame:  Ongoing – will ask for ideas at Executive mtgs.

 Action Plan 3.2.2 Surface ongoing opportunities for individual enrichment ideas through DVD, Cds, books, peer mentoring, etc.

           Responsibility: Deanery Representatives.  APARE V.P. will oversee

          Time Frame:  ongoing

 Action Plan 3.2.3 To intentionally recognize opportunities for part time PARE’s.

           Responsibility:  Leadership, specifically member-at-large with OCE

          Time Frame: Survey by 12/31/08, Ideas in place by 6/30/09

 Goal 4: (initiated work in 2005-06, ongoing in 2006-07 and 2008-09)

 Encourage catechetical leaders to promote pastoral care and concern for all.

 Objective 4.1       Promote awareness of Catholic Social Teaching programs and services available at the Archdiocesan level.

 Action Plan 4.1.1 Allow for presentations and activities at existing meetings and/or Archdiocesan sponsored programs.  Suggested presenters might include catholic charities, mission trips, mission office, SPRED, etc.

           Responsibility:       Leadership, specifically the Corresponding sec

 Action Plan 4.1.2 Develop guidelines about content, time, etc. of presentations.

             Responsibility:       Leadership, specifically the Corresponding Secretary,

            Time Frame: September 2008

Objective 4.2       Explore Catholic Social Teaching programs and services within the Archdiocesan boundaries.

Action Plan 4.2.1 Ask Deanery Representatives to research programs and services.

         Responsibility:       Deanery Representatives

          Time Frame:  August 2008 and ongoing

Action Plan 4.2.2 Present findings at Executive Committee meeting for review and approval.

          Responsibility: Executive Council       

          Time Frame:  October 2008 and ongoing

Action Plan 4.2.3 Publish findings in newsletter and on APARE Web Site.

          Responsibility:  Newsletter Committee

          Time Frame:  Fall of 2008

Action Plan 4.2.4 Publish findings in a handout and disseminate at meeting.

          Responsibility: Leadership, specifically the Treasurer

          Time Frame: January 2009 Business Meeting

Objective 4.3       Explore concrete ideas for implementation of Catholic Social Teachings.

Action Plan 4.3.1 Form Catholic Social Teaching Committee and set mission and purpose of the committee.

          Responsibility: Leadership, specifically the vice-president

          Time Frame: Administrator’s Conference 08’ – have summary of Committee.

          Responsibility: Leadership

          Time Frame: September 09’ Finalize outline of committee

Action Plan 4.3.2 Catholic Social Teaching Committee will conduct research and will solicit and/or write articles, reflections, and practical use of Catholic Social Teachings.

           Responsibility: Executive Council

          Time Frame: 2008-09 year

 Action Plan 4.3.3 Publish articles, findings, and/or reflections in newsletter and web site.

           Responsibility: Catholic Social Teachings Committee to the Newsletter

          Time Frame:  2008-09 year by the newsletter deadlines.
